At Elevating Voices CIC, we believe that every artist and creative has a unique story to share. Through authentic documentary filmmaking, our mission is to capture those stories through a human-centred lens—giving neurodivergent and local talent a platform to showcase their passion, craft, and vision on their own terms.
One of our latest projects, The World of Greener Lavelle, is a micro-documentary focused on North East artist, maker, and TEDx speaker Kim McDermottrowe.
A Shared Visual Perspective
Kim is an autistic artist and TEDx speaker whose brain sees the world in pictures. Her visual way of thinking deeply influences her creative process, public speaking, and the intricate work she produces under the Greener Lavelle name.
This visual perspective resonated strongly with filmmaker Christopher Bradburn, who is also autistic. As an autistic director, Christopher brings lived experience to every project—understanding firsthand how neurodivergent creatives perceive, process, and interact with the world around them.

Our Approach to Creative Storytelling
Filming The World of Greener Lavelle was about creating a space where Kim could express her process authentically. Rather than forcing a rigid structure, Chris focused on building an accessible, relaxed environment that allowed Kim’s visual storytelling to take centre stage.
Key aspects of the production included:
- Authentic Lived Experience: Bridging the connection between an autistic filmmaker and an autistic artist to capture genuine, relatable moments.
- Accessible Environments: Structuring the filming process to be comfortable, clear, and tailored to Kim’s needs.
- High-Quality Craftsmanship: Delivering industry-standard visuals and clear audio that celebrate the richness of local North East creative talent.
